Acne & Scars
Acne is a skin disease that affects most teenagers as well as up to 50 percent of adults. Acne is caused by a variety of factors including excessive sebum production, hormonal imbalance, pore occlusion, bacterial overgrowth and genetics. Acne is usually confined to the face, upper chest and back. Mild acne appears as white and black heads (comedones). More severe acne can take the form of small and medium sized red inflamed bumps (papules and pustules) and large pus filled cysts (nodules). Red or brown blemish and depressed scars are common aftermaths.

Medicines can help manage the severity and frequency of acne outbreaks. Your treatment will depend on the type of acne you have (pimples, whiteheads, blackheads, or cystic lesions). The best medical treatment for acne often is a combination of medicines. These could include medicine that you put on your skin (topical) and medicine that you take by mouth (oral).
Choice of medication depends on severity of the acne and the risk of scarring. Topical treatment works best for milder form of acne. Oral medications are often necessary if there are larger acne lesions or signs of scarring.

This treatment is relatively painless. Patients must avoid sun exposure for 48 hours immediately after the treatment. Peeling and crusting can sometimes last up to a week. A series of 4 treatments at one month interval is recommended to achieve the best result.

Fractional Laser Resurfacing (Lux1540, non-ablative) is a technology which promises to deliver results approaching that of deep chemical peels or ablative laser resurfacing, without the discomfort and inconvenience of a lengthy healing period.
Fractional Laser Resurfacing uses laser energy microbeams to break down skin tissue through the epidermis into the dermis. The body’s natural healing process creates new, healthy tissue to replace the areas of affected tissue, resulting in lighter scar color and a more even skin texture. This technology is the first to receive FDA-approval for treating Stretch marks. Additional treatments are usually spaced 1 to 4 weeks apart, for a total of 4-5 treatments. Further collagen remodeling and some skin tightening take place over the next 3-6 months.

The first and leading choice for skin revitalization treatments for Wrinkles, Acne Scars and Pigment such as freckles, sunspots and discoloration.
PicoSure is the first of a new generation of aesthetic lasers that don’t rely solely on heat to burn away melanin, the pigment that causes dark spots in your skin. Instead of building up heat, PicoSure delivers energy so rapidly (in trillionths of a second = picosecond) that tiny particles of the pigment vibrate and shatter, without burning surrounding tissue. Less heat means less tissue damage and discomfort.
PicoSure’s PressureWave™ technology uses a unique wavelength of light (755nm) and a proprietary Focus™ lens to convert laser energy into gentle pressure. The Focus Lens Array delivers 20x the energy density of a normal PicoSure pulse to begin activating cell signaling. This pressure squeezes cells, activating the natural cell signaling processes that create new collagen and elastin and, ultimately revitalizes skin.
The result? Brighter, Healthier, Younger-looking skin—with virtually no downtime. That’s breakthrough!
